Welcome to the ATC!

At the Adaptive Technology Center (ATC), we believe every student deserves access to the assistive technology (AT) tools and services needed to reach their full potential.

To support our mission, we offer a range of supports for educational staff and parents to consider and implement AT tools for students effectively. We also provide and maintain a substantial inventory of AT equipment designed to support students with low-incidence disabilities, as determined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

Services

Our services are available to students, from birth to age 22, residing in Sonoma County and enrolled in public, non-public, or charter schools within our Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). These services include:

IEP Team / AT Consideration
AT/AAC assessment services for students with a Low Incidence Disability
AAC Needs Assessments for Students with Non-LI Disabilities
AT/AAC equipment trials and loans
Training and support for the assessment & implementation of assistive technology (AT) tools

The SELPA ATC partners with Placer County SELPA through the Open Access Project to lead statewide capacity-building work in the area of assistive technology. This collaboration supports training for our Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), AT, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Additionally, the SELPA works with the Diagnostic Center North to provide training and resources to educational staff within our SELPA on AT and AAC.
